Hybrid Master Oszillator Power Amplifier (MOPA)
Scheme
A DFB or DBR laser is used as master oscillator for the generation of laser radiation with a very good beam quality. Additionally, the internal feedback works as a longitudinal mode filter. The amplification is done in a tapered power amplifier which is coupled via a GRIN rod lens to the master oscillator.
