Microsystem Light Source in Blue and UV Spectral Range for Applications in Sensors
Laser diode systems based on microsystem technology emitting at 488 nm for excitation light sources for Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy - BMBF project FreshScan.
Functional principle
A DFB-RW laser is used as a pump source. Micro-optics focus the beam into a waveguide of a crystal for efficient non-linear frequency conversion. Output powers of 50 mW at 488 nm can be reached at low pump powers of the DFB-RW laser. The laser module is mounted on a carrier with a footprint of 25 x 25 mm.
