Microwave Components and Systems
This business area targets applications in communications and radar for frequencies between 1 and 100 GHz as well as sources for microplasma excitation. The mission is to explore and provide circuits and modules, which improve the state-of-the-art and open up new application fields. The main focus is on high-power applications. By providing high-frequency expertise along with semiconductor technologies and measurement capabilities, FBH forms the ideal background for such activities.
Work is organized in the following business fields:
- Frontend (monolithically integrated transmitters and receivers)
- Power amplifier (efficient microwave amplifiers, based on MMICs, for output powers in the range of typically 1…50 W)
- Low-noise components (preamplifiers with low noise figure, focus on circuits with high linearity and robustness against large input power levels)
- Microplasmas (solid-state sources and corresponding resonator structures for generation of atmospheric microwave plasmas of small spatial dimensions)
